Mata Vaishno Devi, also known as Vaishno Devi, is a Hindu temple located in the Trikuta Mountains of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is one of the most famous and revered shrines in India, and is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Vaishno Devi, who is considered a manifestation of the goddess Durga. According to Hindu mythology, Vaishno Devi was a woman named Vaishnavi, who was a devout devotee of Lord Vishnu. She is said to have undertaken a long and difficult pilgrimage to the cave where the temple is now located in order to worship Lord Vishnu. The temple was discovered in the early 18th century by a Pandit named Sridhar. He had a vision of the goddess in a dream, in which she instructed him to find her cave and build a temple there.
