The Char Dham Yatra is a pilgrimage tour in India that includes visiting four sacred Hindu shrines located in the 4 corner of India. it’s also known to be the holiest tour of Hinduism and this 15-day-long journey will take you on this yatra with complete ease and comfort. Traditionally, the Char Dham yatra of india, or pilgrimage, begins at the shrine of Badrinath, and then proceeds to Dwarka, Somnath, Madurai, Rameshwaram, Bhubaneshwar and finally to Jagannath Puri. The yatra is usually taken by the devotees during the months of May to October. The Char Dham yatra is considered highly sacred and is believed to wash away one’s sins and grant salvation.

Itinerary Details

Day 01: Delhi - Haridwar (230 kms/5-6hrs)

Arrival Delhi Airport / Delhi Railway Station, Meet & Assist further drive to Haridwar. Transfer to your Hotel. If time permits visit Mansadevi Temple, Chandidevi Temple, Daksha Mahadev Temples & Others. Also visit Har-ki-Pauri for Ganga Aarti. The ‘Aarti’ worship of the Ganga after sunset and the floating ‘dia’ (lamp) is a moving ritual. Back to your hotel, Night halt.

 

Delhi to Haridwardistance 5-6Hrs (230kms approx.)

Day 02: Haridwar – Rishikesh (Vehicle Registration) – Devprayag – Rudraprayag (165kms/5-6hrs)

Morning after Ganga Snan (River Bath), drive to Rishikesh. After vehicle & biometric registration formalities (+2hrs process), proceed to Rudraprayagenroute visit Devprayag. Devaprayag is a town and a nagar panchayat in TehriGarhwal district in the state of Uttarakhand, India, and is one of the PanchPrayag (five confluences) of Alaknanda River where Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet and take the name Ganga or Ganges River.

 

Arrive Rudraprayag, Check in Hotel. Rest day at leisure. Overnight stay.

 

Haridwar toRudraprayagdistance 5-6Hrs (165kms approx.)

Day 03: Rudraprayag - Badrinath (160kms/6-7hr)

Early morning, drive straight to Badrinath via Joshimath. Check in Hotel. Later visit Badrinath Temple, Pilgrims after having a bath in the Taptkund have the Darshan of Badrivishal. Brahamakapal is significant for PinddanShraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). There are other interesting sightseeing spot like Mana, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund and the “Mukh” of the Saraswati River. Just within the three kms of Badrinathjee. At evening again visit Badrinath Temple for Aarti. Return back to Hotel. Overnight stay.

 

Rudraprayag toBadrinathdistance 6-7 Hrs (160kms approx.)

Day 04: Badrinath – Joshimath - Rishikesh (296kms/10-11hr)

Early morning, drive back to Rishikesh on route visit Joshimath. Arrive Rishikesh, Check in Hotel. Overnight stay.

 

Joshimath is situated on the slopes above the confluence of the rivers Alaknanda and Dhauliganga. Of the four ‘Maths’ established by Adi Shankaracharya, Joshimath is the winter seat of Badrinath. The idol is brought down to Joshimath and installed in the temple for people to worship. There are many other temples in the township. The most important is the temple of Nir Singh with the idol of Lord Vishnu. The left arm of this deity is getting destroyed with time and the popular belief holds that the day the arm completely withers Badrinath valley will cease to exist and the Gods will transfer the residence into the neighboring Niti Valley at Bhavishya Badri.

 

Badrinath to Rishikesh distance 10-11 Hrs (296kms approx.)

Day 05: Rishikesh – Haridwar – Delhi

Morning visit Rishikesh Temples & Sight Seeing – Laxman Jhulla, Ram Jhulla, Triveni Ghat. Later proceed to Delhi. On arrival check in the hotel &over night stay at hotel.

 

Rishikesh to Delhi distance 06-07 Hrs (250kms approx.)

Day 06: Delhi to Rajkot / Jamnagar Dwarka

Catch the scheduled flight for Dwarka nearest Airport and then drive towards Dwarkadheesh Temple. Stay overnight in hotel.

Rajkot to dwarka distance 04 Hrs (225kms approx.)

Day 07 : Dwarka

Wake up early in the morning and take part in rituals and veneration of Lord krishna. The historians believe that Dwarka has submerged in the sea six times and the present-day Dwarka is the seventh such city to be built in the area. By evening, visit stunning beaches, other majestic temples, sacred lakes and Gujarat Coastline.

Day 08 : Dwarka – Somnath

Have early morning darshan of Lord Vishnu again at the temple and begin the drive towards Somnath. Upon arrival at Somnath, visit Somnath Temple (oldest jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva), Geeta Temple and Moksh Dham Temple. After this, check-in to your hotel room and stay overnight.

 

Dwarka to Somnath distance 04 Hrs (235 kms approx.)

Day 09 : Somnath- Madurai

Post breakfast, head towards Rajkot Airport to catch a flight to Madurai. Reach Madurai and visit Meenakshi Temple and have darshan followed by sightseeing. Stay overnight in Madurai.

Day 10 : Madurai-Rameshwaram

Early morning, depart for Rameshwaram from Madurai and witness the bridge view of Pamban bridge. Upon arrival, check in hotel/Dharamshala and visit Ramanathaswamy Temple in the evening.

 

Madurai to Rameshwaram distance 03 Hrs (175kms approx.)

Day 11: Rameshwaram - Madurai

Take part in 22 kundsnan, Rudrabhisheka and other rituals you want to perform by early morning. Enjoy the prominent attractions of Rameshawarm as Dhanuskodi Beach, Panch-mukhi Hanuman Temple, Dhanushkodi Beach, floating stone temple and many more. Drive back to Madurai.

 

Rameshwaram to Madurai distance 04 Hrs (175kms approx.)

Day 12: Madurai - Bhubaneshwar

Catch the scheduled flight or train from Madurai to Bhubaneswar and upon arrival, check in hotel and stay overnight.

Day 13 : Bhubaneshwar - Puri

Depart for Puri via road (approx. 1 hour) and have darshan at JagannathPuri Temple as per temple visit timings. Stay overnight in hotel.

 

Bhubaneshwar to Puri distance 01 Hr 22 min (63kms approx.)

Day 14 : Puri- konark- Bhubaneshwar

Visit the famous Konark Sun Temple and other attractions of Konark. Spend a beautiful day and return back to Bhubaneshwar & stay overnight in hotel.

Day 15 : Bhubaneshwar - New Delhi

Time to Home. Catch your scheduled flight or Train from Bhubaneshwar to New Delhi or desired location. Here the tour concludes with beautiful travel memories.
