Itinerary Details

Day 1: Dehradun to Sankri via Mussoorie (220 km / 8–9 hours)

Begin your journey with a scenic drive from Dehradun to Sankri via the hill station of Mussoorie. En route, stop at the picturesque Kempty Falls, located just 15 km from Mussoorie. Continue your drive through lush Himalayan terrain, passing through charming towns like Purola, known as the Gateway to Har Ki Dun and located at an altitude of 1,524 meters. Surrounded by dense forests and home to rare wildlife including the snow leopard, this stretch is a nature lover’s delight.
Overnight stay in a guesthouse or tent at Sankri.

Day 2: Trek from Sankri to Pauni Garaat via Taluka (Altitude: ~7,000 ft)

After breakfast, drive a short distance to Taluka, the trek starting point. Begin your trek along the banks of the Rupin River, surrounded by pine forests and chirping birds. The trail to Pauni Garaat offers mesmerizing views of the valley and forest. Pauni Garaat is a small yet scenic village blessed with wild roses, deodar trees, and rich Himalayan flora.
Overnight stay in tents or a rest house at Pauni Garaat.

Day 3: Trek from Pauni Garaat to Kalkattiyadhaar (Altitude: 2,560 m)

Continue your trek through a mix of gentle climbs and descents, navigating through dense forest trails filled with chestnut, walnut, and willow trees. On the way, pass through Gangar Village, offering a glimpse of traditional mountain life. The route gradually opens into the alpine meadows of Kalkattiyadhaar, your campsite for the day.

Day 4: Trek to Har Ki Dun and back to Kalkattiyadhaar (Altitude: 11,768 ft)

This is the most exciting day of the trek. Start early and cross a hanging bridge over the Rupin River, followed by a steady ascent through green pastures, coniferous forests, and alpine meadows. As you reach Har Ki Dun valley, you’re greeted by a panoramic view of snow-capped peaks, gurgling streams, and tranquil surroundings. After spending time in this divine valley, trek back to Kalkattiyadhaar.

Day 5: Trek from Kalkattiyadhaar to Pauni Garaat via Osla Village

Begin your descent towards Pauni Garaat, stopping by the ancient Osla Village, where the locals still worship Duryodhana, a unique cultural aspect of the region. The trail offers excellent views and a chance to interact with local villagers.

Day 6: Trek from Pauni Garaat to Sankri via Taluka

Trek back to Taluka, enjoying the final stretch of your Himalayan adventure through forests and riverside trails. From Taluka, drive to Sankri. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and unwind after a long but rewarding trek.

Day 7: Drive from Sankri to Dehradun (215 km / 7–8 hours)

After breakfast, bid farewell to the mountains and begin your return drive to Dehradun, bringing your Har Ki Dun trek to a memorable conclusion.
Tour ends with sweet memories of the Himalayan wilderness.
