From the regal Balaram Palace to the nomadic Rabari and Banjara tribes of the Little Rann of Kutch, explore centuries-old Patola weaving in Patan, architectural marvels like Rani-ki-vav, and vibrant tribal life in Bhuj, Sodha Rajput villages, and Bharwad settlements near Utelia. Itinerary Details

Day 01: Ahmedabad – Balaram (160 kms / 3 hrs)

Today, you will drive to Balaram, Check into the Balaram palace resort. Rest of the day is for relaxation and enjoy Resort activities. On request in the evening watches tribal dance. Later stay overnight at Balaram Palace.

Day 02: Balaram – Tribal Villages Excursion (Day Tour)

Today after breakfast scheduled meeting with the Gowalla and Gracia tribe. Both these tribes are second cousins to each other’s, differing only in the manner of living. While Gowalla is more settled, the Garcia people are more about wandering types. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 03: Balaram – Patan – Modhera – Little Rann of Kutch (200 kms / 4 hrs)

After breakfast check out from hotel and proceed to Little Rann of kutch via Patan visit one of the families of Patola Weavers, known for their unique Patola art. The fact that patola sari is so demanding and difficult that a single saree can take up to six months to complete. Apart from this visit the famous 11th-century Rani-ki-vav (stepwell). Later drive to Little Rann of Kutch. Overnight stay at the cottages.

Day 04: Little Rann of Kutch – Local Sightseeing & Safari (Day Tour)

Post breakfast visits LRK, Both Rabari and Banjara are the two important tribes of the region. While Rabaris follow an extremely nomadic lifestyle and depends upon sheep and camels for their livelihood. Now Banjaras are settled tribe in the Little rann region. Also, visit the home of Asiatic Wild Ass, the area is known for its unique wildlife and birds. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 05: Little Rann of Kutch – Bhuj (330 kms / 6 hrs)

Today proceed to Bhuj. En route, visit some tribal villages, famous for their Ahir and Rabari embroidery. Upon arrival at Bhuj, Check in to the hotel. The evening is free to explore the markets and monuments of the Kutch region. Overnight at Bhuj.

Day 06: Bhuj – Village Tour (Craft & Handicraft Villages)

Today start your day meeting with local villages of Sodha Rajputs. These villages are inhabited by Hindu (Rabaris and Meghwal Harijans) and Muslim (Jaths and Muthwas) pastoral groups. You will spend your time and understanding their lifestyle. Overnight stay at Bhuj.

Day 07: Bhuj – Participate in Local Activities / Cultural Experiences

Today start your day meeting with local villages of Sodha Rajputs. These villages are inhabited by Hindu (Rabaris and Meghwal Harijans) and Muslim (Jaths and Muthwas) pastoral groups. You will spend your time and understanding their lifestyle. Overnight stay at Bhuj.

Day 08: Bhuj – Ahmedabad (340 kms / 6 hrs)

Today the day will start to Ahmedabad after delicious breakfast, in the evening arrive at Ahmedabad. The day is for relaxation at the hotel. Overnight stay at Ahmedabad.

Day 09: Ahmedabad – Utelia Excursion (150 kms / 3 hrs round trip)

Excursion to the Utelia, upon arrival, visit Bharwad tribal village. The Bharwad tribes, a pastoral people of the region, by profession are shepherds and cattlemen. These colourful tribal people wandering in the neat lanes and perhaps few tribal homes to get an insight into day-to-day tribal life. Catch the steps that turn a handful of dull looking opaque lumps into sparkling gems in your Camera. In the evening return back to Ahmedabad. Stay overnight.

Day 10: Ahmedabad Departure

Today you will fly for your onward journey home.
